Febvre Wines Hosts Old World Wines Tasting at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast
Wine importer Febvre is heading to Belfast’s five-star Merchant Hotel for a very special portfolio tasting. Wine professionals are invited to attend “Sip into the Classics: Old World Wines” on 2nd October. Guests will have the opportunity to taste renowned wines from Champagne Taittinger, Louis Latour, Disnóko Tokaji, Kopke Port, Dom Dujac and much more. F.X. Buckley has received the 'Best of Award of Excellence' award by Wine Spectator for 2024. This esteemed award acknowledges the excellence of the F.X. Buckley wine list, which perfectly complements their renowned menus.
The wine selection, expertly curated by Alan Crowley, Master of Wine, and Brian Buckley, Director, has progressed from receiving the Award of Excellence in 2022 and received the Best of Award of Excellence status in 2023, an accolade which it again retained in 2024. This ongoing recognition from Wine Spectator places F.X. Buckley among the elite of global restaurants which are celebrated for their exceptional wine selection.
Lanzarote Wine Tours Launch New Wine Experience
Lanzarote Wine Tours has teamed up with one of the Island’s most famous wineries Bodega Bermejo, together with two highly regarded new artisan producers, Bodega Erupcion and Bodega Roca Negra.
Explore La Geria’s heroic viticulture and winemaking, together with what goes on behind the scenes inside the islands’ wineries. This experience will focus on lesser-known grapes and styles, during two tastings of a total of 7 wines, and two Lanzarote cheese tastings.
The tastings will be discussion-based and analytical, using tasting aides to help decipher the unique flavours and characteristics of Lanzarote wine.
Wine Tasting in the West of Ireland
Cécile Guillou, sommelier at Michelin-starred Homestead Cottage is running a wine-tasting programme in Ballyvaughan Community Centre and Oranmore. Ballyvaughan Community Centre classes will take place on Mondays at 7 pm, and in Oranmore at The Porter House on Tuesdays at 7 pm. Both are priced at €49 per session. Join me at Castleknock Community College for an 8-week wine appreciation course where you will dive into the world of wine, learning about world-renowned regions, popular grape varieties and how to choose wine when shopping or in a restaurant. Each week you will taste wines from around the world, learning the stories behind the labels, and how to pair your favourite bottles with food.
The course begins on the 25th of September and will run each Wednesday from 19.00 – 21.00 for 8 weeks.
